How DubForge looks after your files, your voice and your account, in plain words.
Your files
Private by default
Uploads go straight to private storage. Nobody browses it: every upload and every download goes through a signed link that expires in minutes.
Encrypted
Files are encrypted on their way to us and while they are stored.
Checked before anything runs
Each file's real type, length and size are checked before it is processed or charged.
Your account
Ways to sign in
Google, an e-mail and a password, or a sign-in link sent to your e-mail. Your e-mail is confirmed before your first dub.
Two-step sign-in
Optional for you, with a code from an authenticator app. Required for everyone on the DubForge team.
Your projects are yours
Every read and every change is checked on the server, and the database checks it again, row by row. Automated tests make sure one customer never reaches another customer's project.
Your voice
Each project asks for a declaration before its first dub, for that exact file. It is kept with the file's SHA-256 fingerprint, so the answer belongs to that video and to no other.
Only voices you may use
Your own, or voices whose owners gave you written permission. Voices of public figures are not allowed.
Marked as AI
Every dub is exported with AI marking: provenance metadata in the file and a watermark in the audio. Our terms ask you to tell your audience too.
Required once for this exact file.
- I have the right to use every voice in this file: it is my own, or I have written permission from each person who speaks.
What we record
Each acceptance becomes a new line that is never edited or deleted: the account, the document's version and the fingerprint of its text, the date and time, the IP address and the browser. For a project, the file's fingerprint too.
New terms, new acceptance
When a document changes, you accept the new version before your next project.
Minutes on a ledger
Every purchase, hold, charge and refund is a new line. Your balance is their sum, and nothing is edited afterwards.

Our team
The team reaches an account or a project only through its admin tools. Each look asks for a reason and is written to a log that nobody can edit, ours included.
Roles
Owner, support, finance and moderation. Each role sees only what its work needs.
Two-step, always
A team account cannot open the admin tools without two-step sign-in.

Studying your voice
Your own voice may be used to improve DubForge's transcription, translation and dubbing. This is part of the terms you accept when you sign up.
Only your voice
Only the voice of the person who declared to be speaking. Everyone else in the video stays out.
Closed purposes
Never sold, and never used to build a model of one specific person's voice.
For a limited time
Kept for up to three years, and removed from the archive and from future training if you close your account.
EU, EEA and UK
Here it rests on legitimate interest instead, and you can object at any time.
What is not allowed
Breaking these rules leads to the content being removed and the account suspended, or banned in serious cases.
- Impersonating anyone or passing as someone else
- Fraud, scams and automated calls
- Sexual content with a real person's voice
- Political or election disinformation
- Harassment and threats
- Voices of public figures or other people without permission
- Copyright infringement
